If information is missing, the file should say what is missing, who requested it, when it is expected and whether the driver can be used while the matter is open. Do not use the driver until every requirement that must be completed before driving is satisfied; separately track inquiries Part 391 allows to be completed within 30 days after employment begins.

Driver qualification checks connect the application, driving-record inquiries and medical evidence with the hiring decision. Where applicable, Clearinghouse queries and hours-of-service controls are also needed; they are not substitutes for checking whether the driver is qualified for the assigned work.

The provider should explain federal coverage and any applicable intrastate requirements before pricing the work. Secure remote review may avoid unnecessary travel.

Have the current driver roster ready, applications, license details, MVR records and medical qualification evidence appropriate to each driver for secure review. Confirm the applicable Part 391 duties for each driver; a CDL label alone does not establish which records are required.
