Renewing UCR for 2027 means completing a registration for the new year, even if you paid for 2026. The 2027 registration window opened October 1, 2026. Enforcement begins January 1, 2027.
You can renew directly at ucr.gov, or request help with your UCR renewal.
Before you renew
Have your USDOT number, business details and the vehicle information needed for the UCR fleet count available. If your business or operations have changed since the last filing, check those details before completing the new registration.
Use the portal instructions for the vehicle count. A count copied from a previous payment receipt may not describe the fleet for this filing.
How to renew UCR
- Open the official UCR registration portal.
- Find your business using the information requested by the portal.
- Select 2027 and review the business details.
- Complete the required vehicle-count information and review the fee.
- Pay the registration charge and save the confirmation for 2027.
The confirmation should relate to the year you intended to renew. If you are trying to confirm an earlier payment, check the record for that year before submitting another payment.
What changed for 2027?
The registration fees increased. The 0 to 2 vehicle bracket is now $55, compared with $46 for 2026. The amount is charged per entity for the applicable fleet bracket.

Common renewal questions
I paid in October 2026. Which year did I pay for?
Check the registration year on the confirmation. The payment date alone does not tell you which registration year it covers, because the 2027 window opened during 2026.
Does my 2026 registration carry over?
No. UCR registration is annual. A covered business needs a registration for the 2027 year.
My business has changed. Do I still need to renew?
Check the current business type and operations using the official UCR eligibility questionnaire. If you need help with that question, include the change when you contact us about UCR.

What to confirm before hiring a provider
Before appointing a provider, confirm the work required, the records or information the provider will need, who will perform each part of the service, and what documentation will be returned when the work is complete. Check relevant credentials, service area, agency or program experience, record-handling procedures and any carrier actions that must be completed separately. A provider can assist with the service, but the motor carrier and other regulated parties remain responsible for duties that cannot be transferred.
