Initial and follow-up evaluations

The initial evaluation establishes the SAP’s education or treatment recommendations. A follow-up evaluation occurs after the employee has carried out the recommended steps and allows the SAP to assess successful compliance. Buying a course or completing an appointment alone does not finish the DOT return-to-duty process.

Checking qualifications for Indianapolis

An employer that chooses to proceed must arrange the required return-to-duty test and decide whether to return the employee to covered work.
