Keep testing responsibilities clear
The SAP sets the follow-up testing plan and the employer carries it out. Tests are unannounced, and the employee must not be told the schedule, frequency or duration of the plan. Random testing and a general workplace test cannot replace a required follow-up test.
Checking qualifications for New Jersey
When arranging an evaluation in New Jersey, distinguish the employee’s actual location from the employer’s address. New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs provides current license information through its verification system. Where the SAP relies on a state professional license, New Jersey professional license verification may help verify that credential. An employer that chooses to proceed must arrange the required return-to-duty test and decide whether to return the employee to covered work.
